These works are inspired by the geological landscape of the island of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Each composition directly relates to the delicate structure and complex patterns found in the island’s bedrock - Lewisian gneisses or ‘Gneiss’ - created during its metamorphic evolution three billion years ago.
